Associate Member (Graduate)
Requirement
- With effect from January 2008, candidates who have passed all 4 papers of the CFP Certification Examination but have not yet accumulated the required number of years of relevant working experience for CFP certification must apply as an Associate (Graduate) within 6 months from the last examination date. For those candidates who fulfill the “4Es” requirements, they are highly recommended to apply for the CFP certification.
- If a candidate fails to apply for Associate (Graduate) or CFP certification within the specified time frame of 6 months, all PASS results of CFP Certification Examination will be expired.
- For those candidates who have previously passed the CFP Examination on or before December 2007 but have not yet applied for CFP certification, they must submit their application for either CFP certification or Associate (Graduate) on or before 30 June 2008 whichever deems appropriate.
- Current IFPHK members, except Associate (Joint) Members, do not require to renew their current membership once they apply for CFP certification or Associate (Graduate).
- Both Associate (Graduate) and CFP certificant are required to fulfill 15 Continuing Education credits on an annual calendar year basis.
- The membership fee of Associate (Graduate):
- For full year membership: a one-off application fee of HK$300 plus annual membership fee of HK$600 for application submitted between January and June.
- For half year membership: a one-off application fee of HK$300 plus the half-year membership fee of HK$300 for application submitted between July and December.
- An Associate (Graduate) can only maintain in this category for a maximum of 10 years. Members are required to apply for CFP certification within 10 years.

Renewal
- A renewal packet will be sent to members before 31 December
- Members who hold more than one IFPHK membership in 2007 are only required to renew their highest membership for their 2008 membership (except FAIQ Joint Associate Member of CII and IFPHK).
- To renew your associate membership, all holders must, on an annual basis, make a Voluntary Disclosure to IFPHK on any public, civil, criminal or disciplinary actions that may have been taken against them in the previous year.
