1. Privacy and data protection

We are committed to respecting your privacy, while providing you with the opportunity to receive products and services that enhance your business activities and to receive benefits from this website. This online privacy policy (the "Policy") describes the ways in which we collect information from you when you use the IFPHK website, http://www.ifphk.org, ("the Website") and what we may use it for.

The Policy only applies to the Website. It does not cover other websites to which you may link via the Website. Such other websites may contain privacy policies which are different to the Policy.

Use of the Website(s) by you constitutes acceptance of the Policy.

We will maintain the confidentiality of and protect your information in accordance with this Policy and to the extent required by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Ordinance”) under the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

We collect data from you in various ways including but not limited to:

a) when you register to use IFPHK's services;

b) by our use of "Cookies" (see clause 9);

c) during the course of your use of IFPHK's services; and

d) when we request further information from you from time to time after your registration.

We recognize that the data may comprise personal data and/or sensitive personal data ("Personal Data"), covered by the Ordinance. This Policy describes how we fulfill our obligations under the Ordinance.

4. How the Personal Data is used

We may use the Personal Data you provide to us solely for the following purposes:

a) To process your purchase of our products and services;

b) To improve our services to you, for example, to notify you of any update to our products and services;

c) To process payments from you for our products and services such as seminars, events, examinations and membership application fees and subscription payments;

d) Internal purposes, including website and system administration, identification and verification purposes;

e) Research, analysis and reporting for the purposes of improving our products and services;

f) From time to time we may provide statistics about the usage levels of the Website and other related information to reputable third parties, but these statistics will not include information which may identify you; and

g) To provide access to restricted parts of the Website

5. Monitoring

We may use Personal Data obtained about you from monitoring your use of the Website solely for internal purposes including site performance, evaluating site use and creating marketing reports for IFPHK's future marketing promotions and products development. Personal Data collected by monitoring will be aggregated, No Personal Data will be used other than for the purpose for which it was originally obtained.

Your Personal Data may be controlled and processed by any of IFPHK's offices. You acknowledge and agree that the location of our office may change from time to time and that IFPHK may acquire other offices, at any time, which may act as a data controller of and/or data processor for the purpose of applicable data protection laws.

Other than as set out in paragraph 4 above, we will not disclose your Personal Data to any third party without your prior permission, unless we are required to do so by any applicable law or regulators or Court orders of any competent jurisdictions (in the Hong Kong or elsewhere).

We may use your email address to contact you by email to provide you with further information about IFPHK, our products/services and to promote our Website. This may involve disclosing your Personal Data to other offices of IFPHK or to our affiliates, agents or appointed representatives. If you wish to be contacted in this way, please tick the appropriate box when you register for IFPHK's online services. Please note that if at any point you wish to change your contact preferences, you can do so online by logging into MyIFPHK and accessing My Details followed by My Contact Preferences.

8. Transfer of Personal Data within or outside Hong Kong

You acknowledge and agree that we may from time to time transfer any of your Personal Data to any office of IFPHK, our subsidiaries, associated companies, affiliates, agents or appointed representatives within or outside Hong Kong. Some of our offices and those of our affiliates, agents or representatives are located in countries outside the European Economic Area which do not have well developed data protection legislation when compared to European law. While we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Data is processed in accordance with this Policy, you may not have rights under data protection legislation in those jurisdictions equivalent to those under European law or Hong Kong law. Please do not send us any Personal Data if you do not want that Personal Data to be processed by us in the ways described in this paragraph.

9. Collection of information through use of cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by us on your computer which enable us to identify your computer when you access the Website and to provide you with a convenient means of access.The cookies we use protect the integrity of login names, passwords and online applications.We also use cookies to collect aggregate statistical information about the use of our site.

10. Use of Third Party Services
