Mr. Paul Grimes, CFP®

Mr. Paul Grimes, is the chief professionalism officer at the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), leads the development and positioning of the body of knowledge, professional standards, certification requirements and oversight framework for the global financial planning profession in partnership with the FPSB Professional Standards Committee, the FPSB Network and other stakeholders.

Prior to FPSB, Mr. Grimes ran his own financial planning and consultancy practice, served as the CEO of FPSB Ireland Ltd. for more than a decade and lectured in financial planning at a post-grad level for 11 years.

Mr. Grimes drives FPSB’s thought leadership in financial advice professionalism, guides territory-specific application of FPSB’s standards and certification requirements; and oversees the creation of the delivery of FPSB’s education content and certifications internationally

Mr. Joseph Chan, JP

Mr. Joseph Chan was appointed the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 16 August 2017.

Mr. Chan has many years of senior executive experience in the banking industry. He was a Managing Director in the Global Markets Division of Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, and was a Managing Director in Financial Markets of Standard Chartered Bank.

Prior to joining the Government, Mr. Chan held multiple roles in a number of public and professional bodies, including Vice President of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts, Director of Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute, Advisor of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, as well as a General Committee member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr Chan was also a member of the Central & Western District Council.

Mr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Hon) and Psychology from the University of Michigan, USA. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Ms Cynthia Hui
Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director
Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority

Currently Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, Ms Hui oversees the Authority’s major functions in supervising MPF trustees and intermediaries, formulating enforcement measures and taking action against non-compliance, and protecting the interests of MPF scheme members.  She instigated and is overseeing the ground-breaking project to develop the centralized eMPF Platform to standardize, streamline and automate MPF scheme administration processes.

Ms Hui is a qualified actuary and a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.  She assumed key roles as Appointed Actuary, Chief Actuary and Regional Actuary in multinational insurance firms, and held positions with management responsibilities for information technology in major financial institutions in Australia before joining the MPFA in 2006.

Dr. Au King-lun, MH, JP, FHKSI (Hon), PhD

Dr. King Au is Executive Director of Financial Services Development Council (FSDC). Prior to joining the FSDC, he was President of Value Partners Group Limited. Dr. Au also served as CEO of Eastspring Investments (Hong Kong) Limited and CEO of BOCHK Asset Management Limited. He also held various senior management positions at other financial institutions including Baring, GMO and HSBC Global Asset Management.

Dr. Au was awarded the Medal of Honor by the HKSAR Government in 2008 for his valuable contributions to the securities and asset management industry. In 2025, he was appointed as a Justice of the Peace by the Chief Executive. He was also named CEO of the Year in Hong Kong by Asia Asset Management in both 2012 and 2014. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) from 2006 to 2008, and as Chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association in 2004/2005.

Dr. Au is currently serving as a Council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Public Accountants, an Index Advisory Committee member of China Securities Index Co and Shanghai Stock Exchange, a Finance Committee member of Adventist Health Hong Kong, a Board of Director of The World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC), and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong among other public services.

Dr. Au is a CFA Charterholder, an Honorary Fellow of HKSI and member of Hong Kong Academy of Finance. He received his BA in Physics from the University of Oxford and PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from the Durham University.

Mr. Nicholas Kwan, formerly the Director of Research of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was the Asia Chief Economist and Research Head, East Hemisphere, of Standard Chartered Bank. He also worked in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and was the Asia Pacific Chief Economist of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Kwan graduated in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with an MBA degree with Warwick University and was a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Prior to that, Mr. Kwong held senior roles in Richard Abbett Asia; AXA China and Convoy Financial Services where he honed his expertise and network for insurance broking and planning for high net worth clients.

Mr. Leo Lai is the Managing Director of Raffles Family Office, focusing on asset management, business strategy, and corporate advisory services. With deep expertise in asset allocation, risk management, and wealth succession planning, he covers a broad client base spanning Greater China, Asia, and Europe. Over the course of his career, Mr. Lai has guided teams in delivering asset management solutions through leading international financial institutions, including UBS, Deutsche Bank, and Bank of Singapore. He has advised listed conglomerate families in the United States, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, as well as entrepreneurs across the Greater China region. 

Mr. Lai serves as Chairman of Family Office Steering Committee and Official Adjudicator for SDG World Records. He previously headed the Wealth Management Center of one of Hong Kong’s note-issuing banks and has acted as a training lecturer for several multinational financial institutions. His extensive experience in corporate governance and wealth management has earned him recognition as a trusted advisor in the industry. Mr. Lai earned his Business Administration degree with First Class Honours from City University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Ka Shi Lau completed a 25-year tenure with BCT Group in June 2024, having served as Managing Director & CEO for 22 years and Senior Advisor for 2 years. During her tenure, she led the group to new horizons with transformations, driving innovation and responsible growth. With a sense of purpose and in service of the greater good, she now focuses on enhancing corporate governance, sustainability, financial / retirement protection, community wellbeing and advancing Hong Kong's status as a leading international financial centre.  Currently, she is the Chairman of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association, Vice Chairman of the Asian Corporate Governance Association, and INED of Citibank (Hong Kong) and also actively serves on public / professional bodies, including MPFA, SFC, Our Hong Kong Foundation, Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association and HKICPA.  Her public role included Hospital Authority, Minimum Wage Commission, Women’s Commission, CIIF and Independent Commission.

In recognition of her public service, Ms. Lau was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the HKSAR Government in 2013.  Among multiple awards she garnered, she was the first woman to win the “Director of the Year Award” in the “Private Companies, Executive Director” category from The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, and the “Lifetime Achievement Award – MPF” at the Asia Asset Management’s 2021 “Best of the Best Awards”.

Ms. Lau holds an MBA from Cornell University and “Executive Leadership Programme in Global Finance” certificate from the Global Economics and Finance of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  She was awarded Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) and a Fellow of both the Chartered Governance Institute (FCG) and the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKFCG).

Mr. Chris Lee

Mr. Tony Mak, CFP®

Mr. Tony Mak graduated in The Chinese University of Hong Kong and joined AIA International Ltd since 1977, currently Senior District Director leading an agency of hundreds of practitioners and won many awards in the insurance industry in his 48-year career.

Mr. Mak took leading positions in many professional bodies, including President of The Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong, President of The Life Underwriters Association of Hong Kong and President of The Hong Kong Society of Certified Insurance Practitioners.

Being a FLMI and CFP®, Mr. Mak contributed much efforts in insurance education. He has been serving as Vocational Training Council, Insurance Training Board Chairman for over a decade, he also has been working in the Streeting Committee of the IIQA Scheme, which established the foundation of insurance intermediaries licensing examinations.

Now he is working actively in the Insurance Industry Regulatory & Development Concern Group focusing on the related issues.

Mr. Gollum Shau, CFP®

Mr. Shau is the Founding Member of the Board of Directors of IFPHK and Past President, LOMA Society of Hong Kong.

Dr. Kimmis Pun, a veteran banker with over 40 years in Asia, is the Managing Director, Family Office of FA Corp (Cross border Tax Accountant) and Managing Director of Asia Green Family Office (CMS Licensed Fund Manager), helping High Net Worth Individuals structure family wealth, strategize/manage family investments and plan business succession.

Dr. Pun is the Lead Independent Director and Chair Nomination Committee of SIIC Environment as well as an Independent Director of LHT Holding, both of which are Singapore Main-board listed companies. Previously, she held senior regional management positions at UBS, HSBC, Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered Bank, Maybank, VP Bank and EFG Bank.

She is a Post Doctorate Visiting Scholar in Cambridge University, with her Doctorate (DBA) degree from University of St Antonio, and her Master (MBA) degree from University of Manchester. She has numerous global professional qualifications: CFP, ChFC, CWMA, AIF, AEPP and IBFA, IBF Fellow (IBF Singapore), and ASD Accredited Senior Director (Singapore Institute of Directors).

Dr. Pun was the ex-Board of Director of the US-based Financial Planning Standard Board & ex-President of Financial Planning Association of Singapore. She is the current Chairman of Wealth Planning Standard Board.

Mr. Chris Tse, CFP®

Mr. Chris Tse is currently a honorary fellow with Macquarie University. He is a subject matter expert in designing and offering index/ESG solutions to the investment community throughout his tenure as an Asia regional leader with top 3 global index/ESG data providers.

Mr. Tse has been appointed by University Grants Committee (UGC) as a lay member of the Business and Economics panel for the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2026 that is an international and expert-led review to assess submissions from the eight publicly-funded universities in terms of research outputs, impact and environment using international benchmarks to inform their relative strengths and identify areas and opportunities for development. 

Before switching his career to index industry, Chris held senior positions at Credit Agricole Asset Management (nowadays Amundi), Franklin Templeton Investments and Manulife where he worked in various areas including fund distribution, investment advisory as well as product management and training.

Mr. Tse acquired two Master degrees from the University of Warwick and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also a CFP certificant and CFA charterholder.

Mr. Sam Yu

Mr. Sam Yu is the Managing Director and Head of Compliance for Asia Pacific ex-Japan at Barings, where he is responsible for the supervision of compliance within the firm and the enforcement of compliance with laws, regulatory requirements and changes, policies, and procedures. Mr. Yu has more than two decades of experience in the industry. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, he served as the Head of Business AML/KYC Office, Asia, at JP Morgan Asset Management in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he served as the Head of Legal & Compliance, Asia Pacific at GAM Hong Kong Limited and the Head of Risk Management for the Royal Bank of Canada's wealth management business in Asia. He also held positions at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Lehman Brothers, Bankers Trust in Hong Kong, and Deloitte & Touche in New York.

At present, he also serves as the Chairman of Hong Kong Investment Funds Association and its Regulatory Subcommittee for the 2024-2025 term.

Mr. Yu is a Certified Public Accountant in the United States and holds a BSc in Business Administration from Boston University, Massachusetts. He is based in Hong Kong.

Ms. Steffanie Yuen

Ms. Steffanie Yuen has extensive experience in the fintech, wealth management, and investment banking industries. She was the former Managing Director at Value Partners and was responsible for leading the Group's Direct Distribution, Marketing, Communications and Investor Relations functions, as well as other key strategic growth initiatives. Prior to joining Valuer Partner, she was the Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Director at Alibaba's fintech affiliate Ant Group, where she assisted in establishing the first domestic joint venture fund advisory company in China with Vanguard, the largest public fund company in the U.S., approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

Ms. Yuen holds a BS in Finance and Accounting degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She was selected into the Financial Leaders Programme in 2023 organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and currently serves as Co-Chair of the WealthTech and InvestTech Committee of the Fintech Association of Hong Kong.

Ms. Sherry Zhu is the Global Head of Digital Assets at Futu Holdings Limited, where she leads the group’s global crypto business in various jurisdictions, driving product innovation, strategic expansion, and regulatory compliance. Before joining Futu, she was a member of the Fintech Unit at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong, where she played a pivotal role in shaping Hong Kong’s virtual asset regulatory framework and overseeing virtual asset-related license applications.
