Mr. Steve Chiu has close to 30 years of wealth and asset management experience, and has been a CFP certificant since 2001. He is currently Senior Vice President and Head of Hong Kong Retail at PIMCO Asia Limited, and was previously Vice President, Investment Funds at Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong).  Prior to that Mr. Chiu held senior management roles at Bosera Asset Management (International), AIA Wealth Management, Invesco Asset Management, HSBC Retail Banking and HSBC Asset Management.  He holds an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Mr. Joseph Chan, JP

Mr. Joseph Chan was appointed the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 16 August 2017.

Mr. Chan has many years of senior executive experience in the banking industry. He was a Managing Director in the Global Markets Division of Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, and was a Managing Director in Financial Markets of Standard Chartered Bank.

Prior to joining the Government, Mr. Chan held multiple roles in a number of public and professional bodies, including Vice President of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts, Director of Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute, Advisor of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, as well as a General Committee member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Chan was also a member of the Central & Western District Council.

Mr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Hon) and Psychology from the University of Michigan, USA. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mr. Stephen Po

Mr. Stephen Po is currently the Executive Director, Market Conduct of the Insurance Authority, Hong Kong.  Mr. Po mainly oversees the regulation of conduct of insurance intermediaries. Scope of coverage includes licensing, inspection, investigation and complaints handling in order to strive for the highest standards of conduct, ethics and integrity of insurance intermediaries.

Mr. Po was formerly the Senior Director and head of the Intermediaries Supervision Department of the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”), Hong Kong.  Mr. Po was also the Chairman of Committee on the Regulation of Market Intermediaries of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (“IOSCO”) for 7 years from 2009 to 2016, responsible for setting conduct and prudential standards on the regulation of market intermediaries in a cross border environment.

Mr. Po is a qualified accountant and holds a MBA and BBA degree.

Ms. Cynthia Hui is Executive Director (Members) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority. Ms. Hui is a qualified actuary and a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. She has held Appointed Actuary, Chief Actuary and Regional Actuary positions in multi-national insurance firms, and positions with responsibilities for information technology in major financial institutions in Australia before joining the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority in 2005.

Mr. Edmond Lau

Mr. Edmond Lau is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of HKMC Annuity Limited, responsible for the launch of a life annuity scheme in order to strengthen the retirement protection for the elderly. Prior to joining the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in 1997, he was an Administrative Officer of the Hong Kong Government. From 2007 to 2013, Mr. Lau was the Executive Director of the HKMA and Hong Kong Note Printing Limited,  overseeing the Monetary and Financial Stability Policy, as well as the development of the financial market..

Mr. Lau graduated from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) with a Bachelor Degree in Social Science (Economics). Thereafter in 2016, he obtained a Master Degree in Social Work from the HKU and subsequently joined Stewards as the Chief Executive until September 2017.

Mr. Jason Fung

He has almost 15 years of leadership experience in actuarial and insurance product management.  He has proven track record in managing complex financially based projects from inception to completion while ensuring the project results and details comply with regulatory requirements. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in the US and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.  He holds an MBA degree from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Anthony Lee, BBS

Dr. Anthony Lee is a specialist physician turned hospital administrator.  Back in the 1970’s as a senior lecturer of the Department of Medicine in the University of Hong Kong specializing in rheumatology and clinical immunology, he pioneered in clinical research in rheumatic diseases and hepatitis B diseases in Hong Kong. Subsequently he practiced as a consultant rheumatologist in Hong Kong and in Melbourne, Australia, for a number of years. During this period he had become familiarized with the public and private healthcare systems in the two cities. In 1996 he returned to Hong Kong to take up the helm as Chief Hospital Manager & Medical Director of the Union Hospital and has successfully transformed the hospital into one renowned for its quality service. Currently he is also Chairman of the Hong Kong Private Hospitals Association.

In 2017, he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the Hong Kong SAR Government for his long and meritorious public and community service, particularly his significant contributions to the healthcare development in Hong Kong.

Mr. Gin Lee, CFPCM

Mr. Lee has been invited as lecturer of the continuous education course of IFPHK. He is also regularly recognized as guest speaker for local and mainland universities and high schools, and regular investment columnist of financial websites and magazines. He is currently a member of Financial Education for Working Adults working group of Investor Education Centre (IEC), a subsidiary of Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), to help formulate the first Hong Kong Financial Competency Framework.

During his tenure at the LUAHK as the member of Executive Committee and President, he has been involved in several industry projects, including the establishment of Insurance Authority, formulation of the code of conduct, Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) and regulations for the MPF intermediaries, etc. Mr. Tse is now the Convener of Insurance Industry Regulatory & Development Concern Group (ICG).

Mr. Yung has received many honours and awards including Hong Kong’s “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” in 1994, “The China Insurance Person of the Year 2011” in 2012, “LUAHK Industry Achievement Award” in 2015, “Hall of Honor” by GAMA International in 2017 and “CMF 2018 International Insurance Culture Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2018.
