Mr. Paul Pong is the Managing Director of Pegasus Fund Managers Limited, Executive Director of China International Finance Ltd (Listed on HKEX main board) and Chairman of Shenzhen Qianhai Prudence Investment Fund Management Company Limited. He has been working in the fund management industry over 30 years. He is a non-official member of Human Capital Committee of the Financial Services Development Council, a member of Advisory Committee of Hang Seng Indexes Co. Ltd., a member of Registration Committee of The Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, a member of Investment Task Force of Construction Industry Council, Vice President of Hong Kong Shanxi Chamber of Commerce and Co-Convener of Financial Section of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association. Mr. Stephen Po

Mr. Stephen Po is currently the Executive Director, Market Conduct, of the Insurance Authority. He oversees the regulation of sales conduct of insurers and insurance intermediaries, the development of insurance intermediaries licensing and enforcement regime and is in charge of the supervision and enforcement of the anti-money laundering regulatory regime for the insurance sector.

 

Mr. Po has a strong background in financial regulatory work both in Hong Kong and overseas. He served before as the Senior Director of the Intermediaries Supervision Department of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). He was also the Chairman of the International Organization of Securities Commission Committee on the Regulation of Market Intermediaries for seven years before departing from the SFC in early 2017.

Ms. Cynthia Hui is the Executive Director (Supervision) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority. Ms. Hui is a qualified actuary and a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. She has held actuarial positions in major insurance companies in Australia for over 15 years before joining the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority in 2005.

He is currently the CEO of Forms Syntron Information (HK) Limited and the leader in driving business growth in Hong Kong.

 

Prior to joining Forms Syntron Information, Mr. Chan was the Executive, Banking Industry of IBM China/Hong Kong Ltd. His responsibilities included promoting FinTech, Cognitive Bank, digital banking, digital branch and mobile payment. He has offered solutions to more than 10 mobile banking clients and assisted in establishing the first digital branch in Hong Kong.

Dr. Henry Chan

Dr Henry Chan received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cambridge, England, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is currently an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He has co-authored a textbook on e-commerce and research papers in various journals.

 

Dr Chan was the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Computer Society Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Award ("for outstanding contributions to computing education through teaching, mentoring students and service to the education community"). At PolyU, he has received four President's Awards.

Mr. Steve Chiu, CFPCM

Mr. Steve Chiu is a Board Member of Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong, and has over 25 years of experience in the wealth and asset management industry. Currently, he is a Senior Vice President and Head of Hong Kong Retail of PIMCO Asia Limited. Before joining PIMCO he was Vice President, Investment Funds, of Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited. Prior to that, he served in Bosera Asset Management (International), AIA Wealth Management, Invesco Asset Management, HSBC Retail Banking and HSBC Asset Management. Mr. Chiu holds a B.Sc. degree from the University of Hong Kong and MBA degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also a CFA charterholder and a CFPCM certificant.

Mr. Ray Lee, CFPCM

Mr. Ray Lee is currently a Co-founder & Deputy Executive Director of Hong Kong Startup Foundation, and has been working in the financial services industry for over 8 years. He is actively involved in the development of trading systems, and products including securities, futures and foreign exchange. In 2015, he set up a team to develop a gold trading platform and was awarded a grant from angel investor in Mainland China.

 

Mr. Lee devotes himself to Fintech product development. He is the Co-founder of a mobile application WinVestor, a one-stop application combined marketing information, virtual trading function, social elements and big data analytic tools to provide trading insight for investors.

Ms. Julia Leung, SBS

Ms. Julia Leung is a member of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). She is also an Executive Director with responsibility for the Intermediaries Division, which comprises the Intermediaries Supervision and Licensing departments. Ms. Leung was Executive Director responsible for the Investment Products Division from March 2015 to June 2016.

 

Prior to joining the SFC, Ms. Leung was the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury from August 2008 to December 2013. Before that, she worked with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority for 14 years, including eight years as the Executive Director responsible for the development of renminbi business in Hong Kong, development of fixed income market in Asia and other financial cooperation with Mainland and various international regulators.

Mr. Raymond Li, JP

Mr. Raymond Li is a Senior Executive Director of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).  He was seconded to the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation (HKMC) as its Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Li joined the Hong Kong Government as an Administrative Officer in 1982 and became Principal Assistant Secretary (Monetary Affairs) in 1990. He joined the HKMA in 1993 and took up various posts since then. His projects included interest rate deregulation, financial disclosure by authorized institutions, property lending and mortgage policies, supervisory framework for stored value cards and money brokers, electronic banking, market risks, year 2000 issue, and anti-money laundering. He was responsible for the establishment of the deposit protection scheme and the credit referencing infrastructure of Hong Kong. Before being seconded to the HKMC in January 2013, he was Director-General (Enforcement) of the HKMA.

Mr. Fred Ngan is the Co-founder of Seasonalife, an insurtech start-up focusing on digital insurance. He is also the Co-founder of Coherent Capital Advisors, a specialized analytics and advisory firm serving regional insurers and asset managers. He currently leads a team of actuaries, data scientists, engineers and a technical expert team in developing a millennial-focused digital platform that analyses customer profile and provides personalized product recommendation.

 

Mr. Ngan is a qualified actuary and a fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He has practiced in Chicago, London, Toronto and Hong Kong. He is a frequent speaker at professional and entrepreneurial conferences, which includes trainings to senior executives for regional insurers and banks, as well as sharing in starting up business.

Mr. Elvin Tharm

Mr. Elvin Tharm currently leads Business Development and Client Relationship for Mercer Hong Kong’s Wealth business. Prior to his current role, he was the Mercer Smart Savings Business Leader responsible for providing voluntary retirement savings platform and solutions to clients in Hong Kong and across Asia.

 

Prior to joining Mercer, Mr. Tharm held several senior positions with Principal Financial Group in Hong Kong, including Chief Operating Officer, Director of Finance and Actuarial, Director of Risk Management, covering the Hong Kong pension (MPF and ORSO) and mutual fund business as well as Principal’s joint-venture asset management businesses across Asia in China, ASEAN and India. Mr. Tharm has extensive experience in pension and investments, as well as broad coverage across business strategy, M&A, finance, actuarial, risk management, product development, pricing, operations and compliance.

 

Mr. Tharm is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a master’s degree in Actuarial Science and the Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.

Mr. Chris Tse is currently the Head of Asia Pacific, Nasdaq Indexes. Mr. Tse has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry and is a professional in fund investment and training. Mr. Tse was in managerial positions for Manulife (International) Limited, Franklin Templeton Investments, Credit Agricole Asset Management and CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets. He was the former Director of Asia for FTSE Russell, responsibled for driving the company's growth in Asia across the institutional and retail segments. He consulted with clients across financial markets including fund managers and banks to ensure FTSE's indexing solutions were accessible and consistently meeting investor needs.

Mr. Shih Wing Ching

Mr. Shih Wing Ching, the Founder of Centaline Group of Centaline Group, was born in Shanghai and brought up in Hong Kong. In 1978, he established Centaline Property Agency Limited and now evolved as one of the largest property agencies in Hong Kong. The Group has more than 60,000 employees serving a wide range of businesses including property agency, surveying and valuation, wealth management, as well as information technology development on property data.

 

In 2005, Mr. Shih launched “am730”, the free newspaper where he produces regular column to express his views on current issues, being an entrepreneur and even life experiences. Mr. Eric Wong, is the CEO and Chairman of private equity firm Bricks & Mortar Management Ltd. In the past 16 years, the portfolio of properties managed by Mr. Wong has returned 50x on equity invested (28% ROE p.a.).

 

Prior to his current venture, he worked at UBS between 1998 and 2011, rising to the position of Head of Asia Real Estate Research, during this period the UBS Asian Property Research Team secured top three rankings every year in various financial polls. His research responsibility included real estate and hotels strategy in Asia, with specific focus on Hong Kong and China; his company coverage included property developers, landlords, REITs, and hotel stocks.

 

Mr. Wong is also a respected commentator on economics, property markets, urban planning and housing policies, frequently interviewed by Hong Kong’s top TV and radio stations, newspapers and magazines.
