About “World Financial Planning Day 2020” (“WFPD”)
The IFPHK hosts the “World Financial Planning Day 2020” (“WFPD”) in Hong Kong, as a support to the Financial Planning Standards Board (“FPSB”) initiatives during the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ (“IOSCO”) World Investor Week. The WFPD is set on 7 October this year.
During the WFPD, the IFPHK and all FPSB’s affiliate organizations representing a global community of over 188,100 CFP® professionals will provide programs to promote consumer awareness and understanding of financial planning.
IOSCO’s World Investor Week is a week-long global campaign designed to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection, and to highlight the investor education and protection initiatives of securities regulators around the world. As part of its global campaign, IOSCO has invited securities regulators from six continents, alone or in partnership with local and international nonprofit groups, to provide programs and events to promote the importance and value of investor education and protection.

The “COVID-19 Impact on Retirement Planning” Public Survey
As a prelude of the World Financial Planning Day, the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) has launched the “COVID-19 Impact on Retirement Planning” Public Survey (the “Survey”) to gather public views on retirement planning since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Survey will take place from now on until 17 September, 2020. As a gratitude for support, the first 200 participants will be eligible to receive a Pacific Coffee voucher of a short size coffee (8 oz.) upon completing the Survey.
The Survey findings will be announced on IFPHK’s facebook during the World Financial Planning Day on 7 October, 2020.

Live Global Panel Event – “Future of Financial Planning: Adapting to a New Normal”
The Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) is organizing a live global panel event on the WFPD. Themed “Future of Financial Planning: Adapting to a New Normal”, the event sees experts from around the world discuss the challenges and synergy between the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial planning profession. In another session, speakers will look at ways to better serve client needs in the pandemic.
The event is open to all CFP professionals and financial planning practitioners/ students around the world, at free-of-charge.

“Plan Your Tomorrow” Video Contest
To celebrate the World Financial Planning Day 2020 on 7 October 2020, the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) has joined hands with its 26 affiliates, including the IFPHK, to roll out a series of activities. The organizers kicks off the event with the “Plan Your Tomorrow” Video Contest highlighting prizes worth of US$1,000.
