The Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) is pleased to launch the CFP Certificant with Retired Status Program—a new initiative that honors the lifelong achievements and professional dedication of our most senior members. Developed in response to member feedback and demographic changes, the program allows eligible CFP certificants—those who have been in good standing for at least ten years and are aged 65 or above and formally retired from financial planning practice—to continue using the CFP mark, noted as “Retired” on the IFPHK Register. Beneficiaries retain ordinary membership, receive a 20% discount on annual certification fees, and remain part of the IFPHK community through newsletters, special events, and engagement activities. Retired status holders are further encouraged to mentor and advise the next generation of financial planners, and can enjoy exclusive or privileged opportunities for continuing education. The program demonstrates IFPHK’s commitment to honoring the contributions and legacy of senior professionals, ensuring their expertise continues to be recognized and valued. The program is initially available to CFP certificants and may be extended to other designations in the future. Complete program details and eligibility are in both the policy and FAQ documents below.
